The IPA Adriatic Cross-Border Cooperation Programme is the result of the joint operational programming carried out by different countries: Italy, Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Greece, Montenegro, Serbia and Slovenia. It is part of the wider cooperation strategy in the Adriatic area.

The Programme enhances and promotes the goals achieved through the previous cross-border cooperation projects, finalizing the results of past studies and analyses.

Factors related to the geographical and cultural proximity contributed to the intensification of multilateral relations among the Regions on both sides of the Adriatic, supporting mutual growth, sustainable development and to strengthen institutional relations.

The APC project is part of the IPA Programme’s goals. It focuses on Priority 3, “Accessibility and Networks”, especially focussing on Measure 3.2 “Sustainable Mobility Systems”. It aims at developing a safe and sustainable transport system favouring the development of the Adriatic Area and accessibility to neighbouring countries.
